Edward Wyatt, 68, Gray, TN (formerly of Gate City, VA) passed away, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Indian Path Medical Center.

He was born in Grayson County, VA on October 16, 1944 to the late Dewey and Stella Taylor Wyatt.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Viola Heath, and brothers, Albert, Lester and Paul Wyatt preceded him in death.

Edward is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Maxine Wyatt, Gray, TN; sister, Inus Marie Price, White Hall, MD; special brother-in-law, Bob Heath; two special sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Heter and Patricia Dunn; special friends, Mack and Sammie Joe Baker, Jan and Bob Scibor, Sabrina Lester, Susie Ervin, and his church family at Weber City First Baptist Church; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Hall officiating, assisted by Dr. Lester Morelock. Music will be provided by Hope Bright.

Military graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and post #265, Gate City, VA. Ernie Price, Bob Heath, Steve Barnett, Jeff Sutton, Mack Baker, Ronnie Dowell, Bob Scibor, Len Heter and Sabrina Lester will serve as pallbearers. Cecil Watson, T.A. Testerman, Sebert Testerman and Dr. Jeffery Hunt will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Friends and Family are asked to meet at the Gate City Funeral Home by 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2013 to go in procession to the graveside.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Kyle Mannion and Dr. Jill Gilbert of Vanderbilt University and the staff of Indian Path ICU and Cancer Center for their care of Edward.
