William Harve Wright – Rye Cove, VA
William Harve Wright, 86, Rye Cove died peacefully with his family and went to be with Jesus, Monday, August 3, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jennie Wright, and sisters, Louise Benton and Marie Parsons.
Mr. Wright was a member and deacon of Riggs Chapel Church, Rye Cove. He retired from Holston Army Ammunition Plant. He enjoyed farming, camping, spending time with his family, and most of all going to church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Emogene Fletcher Wright, Rye Cove, VA; his son, Eddie Wright and wife, Stephanie of Manassas, VA; his daughter, Debbie Wright Kilgore and husband, Terry; grandson, Kyle Kilgore and granddaughter, Kayla Kilgore of Gate City, VA. He is also survived by his brothers, Lester Wright of Bristol, VA and Wayne Wright of Kingsport, TN; sisters, Joyce Frazier of Bristol, VA and Jerri Benton of Madisonville, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Terry Kilgore. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Raymond Summey and Mike Gilliam officiating. Eulogies will be given by his special friends, Bill Tignor and T.J. Hood. The Hood family will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Morrison Cemetery, Rye Cove, VA. Allen Benton, Linville Benton, Billy Benton, Ronnie Benton, Jimmy Benton, Bobby Duncan, Joe Herron, Scottie Frazier, and Mike Wright will serve as pallbearers. Clarence Fletcher, Bobby Fletcher, Ted Fletcher, and Hurley Carter will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Thursday to go in procession to the graveside service.
