Kenneth Wayne Wolfe, 69, Fort Worth, TX and formerly of Scott County, VA on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Wolfe was born in Dungannon, VA on November 26, 1942 to the late Nathan and Myrtle Greear Wolfe.
Ken was retired from Lockheed Martin, formerly, General Dynamics, after 25 years of employment as a fireman. He retired following his disability from a car accident in 1991. Ken's family sends many thanks and hugs to Joyce and her family for the tender loving care they gave to Ken following this sad accident. No words can express the comfort we have received from knowing Ken was content and safe in your loving home.
Ken was a member of the Azle Masonic Lodge #601 and served as a Master Mason. He also served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1964 stationed at Carswell Air Force Base where he served his time in Guam.
He enjoyed life and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Ken loved playing golf with his buddies from work. He was a devoted husband and father who will always be remembered for his kind and tender spirit.
In addition to his parents, his wife of 28 years, Lula Mae Blevins Wolfe, and his younger brother, Johnny Ray Wolfe, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Wolfe Leigh and husband, Edmund; his beautiful grandchildren, Stephanie Mary Leigh, Robert Kenneth Leigh, and Rebecca Ann Leigh, all of Warner Robins, GA; sister, Judy Wolfe Lawson and husband, Ray, and their son, Nathan Ray Lawson, all residing in Tennessee; brother, Jim Wolfe and wife, Bobbie Jean, Moseley, VA, and their sons, Mark and Neal Wolfe, Richmond, VA; sister-in-law, Judy Bagley Wolfe, and her son, Jason Wolfe, both residing in Gate City, VA.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Masonic services will be conducted at 12:45 p.m. by Fidelity Lodge #173, Nickelsville, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, VA with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA, assisted by members of the Virginia Army Guard National Guard Honor Guard. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
