Julia Wolfe – Gate City, VA

Mrs. Julia Belle Scott Wolfe, 85, Gate City, VA went to be with her Lord, Friday, December 30, 2011 at her residence.

In addition to being a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to many, she was a true pillar of faith, strength and courage.

Mrs. Julia touched the lives of many people with her gentle spirit, loving smile and kind heart. She will be forever cherished and remembered by those who were blessed to have known her. Proverbs 31:28 – 31 summarizes her labor in this life:
"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
Many women do noble things but you surpass them all.
Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."

She was born in Greene County, Georgia on January 1, 1926, the daughter of the late Lizzie Scott Roland. She retired from Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center as a nurse's aide, and was a faithful, lifetime member of Moccasin Avenue Church of Christ.

In addition to her mother, Lizzie Scott Roland, Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Wolfe, Jr.; sons, Rufus Wolfe, III, John Preston Wolfe, and Rufus Michael Wolfe; a great grandson, Joshua Hale; her grandfather, James Scott; and mother-in-law, Maggie Anderson.
Surviving are her daughters, Dora Martin, Kingsport, TN, Ruby Wolfe Rogers and husband, Stanley, Gate City, VA, Sandra Wolfe Hale, Kingsport, TN, Beverly Wolfe Cutler, Gate City, VA, and Janice Wolfe Sharpe, Gate City, VA; sons, Billy J.
