Mrs. Ruby Rhoton Williams, 81, Gate City, VA entered into rest after a brief illness, Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Nova Rehabilitation, Weber City, VA.
Mrs. Williams was born in Scott County, VA on July 20, 1932 to the late Joseph "Dock" and Nora Caudill Rhoton.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Sloan town Community Church.
She is survived by her husband, Willard H. Williams, Gate City, VA; daughters, Juanita "Edie" Adams, Kingsport, TN, Nora Duncan, Gate City, VA, and Lois Williams, Kingsport, TN; son, Jerry Williams and wife, Pat, Blountville, TN; grandchildren, Daphne Matthews and husband, Ronnie, Brenda Wallace, Melissa Williams; great grandchildren, Ashley Arnold and husband, Isaac, Joey Matthews, Ty Wallace ,Jimmy Matthews, Logan Flaherty, and Landen Flaherty; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Olen Sloan officiating. Kenneth Davis will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Sunday to go in procession to the graveside service.
