Gate City, VA – Kathy "Skeens" Williams, 53, entered into Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at her residence.
Kathy was born January 29, 1956 in Scott County, VA to the late Charlie Skeens, July 1993 and Lona Estelle Sexton Skeens, 1998.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Skeens, 2009; and one sister, Thelma Williams, 2003.
Kathy drove a bus for 25 years for Scott County School System.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Williams, Nickelsville, VA; daughters, Marie and Randall Nickels, Nickelsville, VA, Jennifer Williams, Nickelsville, VA, Christina Williams, Yuma, VA, Crystal Williams, Nickelsville, VA; eight grandchildren, Leanne Sluss, Charles Porter, Matthew Nickels, Alexis Atkins, Kenneth Atkins, Savannah Nickels, Hunter Dean, Landon Williams; sister, Shirley and Fred Davis, Church Hill, TN; brother, Joe Skeens, TX; sister-in-law, Sandra Skeens, Gate City, VA; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her husband, Herman Williams. Services will be at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Will Shewey and Rev. P.J. Johnson officiating.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2009 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. The family will meet at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession for the graveside service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Gate City Funeral Home is serving the Williams family.
