Dona Kate Gilmer Williams, 87, Nickelsville, VA passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Brian Center, Weber City, VA.
Mrs. Williams was born in Scott County, VA on July 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Thomas Ollie and Hattie Elizabeth Francisco Gilmer.
She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Nickelsville, VA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ambers Williams, and brothers, George Gilmer, J.R. Gilmer, Howard Gilmer, and Thomas Franklin Gilmer.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Danny R. Williams and wife, Nina, Nickelsville, VA and Lowell T. Williams and wife, Inas, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Angela Jones, Eric Williams, Brian Williams, Amber Coleman, Amy Mann, and April Addington; great grandchildren, Nathan Jones, Sarah Jones, Daniel Mann, Ethan Mann, and Oliver Addington; sisters, Carrie Lou Gilmer Price, Nickelsville, VA and Pauline Gilmer Elliott, Nickelsville, VA; brother, Charlie Gilmer, Nickelsville, VA along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. George Odle officiating. The Nickelsville Community Choir will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2009 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Monday to go in procession to the graveside service.
