William Kelly Pierson – Gate City, VA
William Kelly Pierson, 81, Gate City, VA passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Norton
Community Hospital.
Bill was born in Gate City, VA on January 22, 1942, and was the son of the late Kelly and
Maude (Hartsock) Pierson.
He was a retired Chemical Operator with Eastman Chemical.
In addition to his parents, his sisters, Ann Shively, Ruby Mays, Louise Garland, Naomi
McConnell, and Gladys Berry preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Linda (Shelton) Pierson, daughters, Kathy Price and husband, Gary,
Jane Ann Baker and husband, David, sons, William Kelly Pierson, II and wife, Kathy, Otis
Pierson and wife, Patti, grandchildren, Jacob Price, Amiee Hutchins and husband, Tyler, Kristy
Peters and husband, Grady, Luke Pierson and wife, Ambria, Linley Wade and husband,
Brandon, Jack Pierson, Thomas Baker and Caroline Baker, great grandchildren, Nolan Hutchins
and Elizabeth Peters, sisters, Marion Carney, Nancy Odiorne, and husband, Dean, a special
nephew, who was like a son, Jimmy Berry, along with several other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Hall and the staff of Norton Community
Hospital‘s ICU for caring for Bill and his family.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Holston View
Cemetery, Weber City, VA with his son, Pastor William Kelly Pierson, II officiating.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Holston View Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. for the Graveside
service.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
