Wayne Whited, 79, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 5, 2022, at Holston Valley Hospital - Kingsport TN
Wayne was born and lived most of his life in Westminster Maryland and was the son of the late Newton and Gladys (Shaffer) Whited.
In addition to his parents, his brother-in-law, John Street preceded him in death.
He was a proud American who served in the United States Army.
He worked and retired from Black & Decker in Hampstead, Maryland. He enjoyed deer hunting and wildlife.
After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed life in the mountains of Gate City, Virginia.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Dona Kay Wagner (Smith) Whited; his children, Phil Whited and wife, Amy, Parker, CO, Melissa (Whited) Plank and husband, Jason, Hanover, MD, and Chris Whited and wife, Amy, Hanover, MD, sister, Violet Street, Hampstead, MD, grandchildren, Gage, Landon, Gabriel, and Griffin, step children, Danny Smith and wife, Ronda, Bristol, TN, Tony Smith and wife, Pennie, Blountville, TN, step grandchildren, Andrew (Amanda) Smith, Nikki (Derrick) Minor, Logan, Christian, and Ethan Smith.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wildlife Federation or a charity of your choice.
