Vivian Novella (McConnell) White, 75, Nickelsville, VA passed away peacefully on September 7, 2016 at NOVA Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA, surrounded by her husband and children. God smiled upon our family today. “All Is Well”.
Vivian was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was a lifelong Christian who attended many area churches. She loved cooking for her family, spending time with her grandkids and friends, and sitting on a creek bank fishing.
She was born in Scott County, VA and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Goldie (Gillenwater) McConnell.
In addition to her parents, her brother, Odell McConnell preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Joe M. White, Nickelsville, VA; children, Regina Wright and husband, Junior, Castlewood, VA, Robin Humbert and partner, Paul White, Jonesborough, TN, and David White and wife, Jennifer, Mt. Carmel, TN; grandchildren, Autumn Bond, Summer Greear, Courtney Humbert, Madison White, and Dustin White, 7 great grandchildren; brother, Gene McConnell and wife, Phyllis, Bristol, TN, and sister, Louella Shipley, Midway, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September11, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. G.W. White and Pastor Fred White. Greg and Becky White will provide the music.
Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to give special thanks to NOVA Health and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care and love provided.
