Nancy Kinkead Ward, 72, Gate City, VA passed away, Wednesday, October 28, 2015 Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN.
She was born in Kingsport, TN on August 30, 1943 and was a daughter of the late Paul and Anna Lynn Kinkead.
Nancy taught school at Gate City High School and Middle School for 28 years and retired in 2004. She served as a pianist and organist for many area churches.
She is survived by her Husband, Danny Ward, Gate City, VA; daughter, Cathy Ward, Atlanta, GA; cousins, Tommy Click and wife, Alice, Kingsport, TN, Lynn Moen and husband, Don, Great Falls, VA and sister-in-law, Betty Safriet.
The family will receive friends from 5p.m. – 7p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Ralph (Tommy) Holtzclaw and Rev. Marvin Egan officiating. Scott Fleming and Judy McConnell will provide the music.
Graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Ben Tittsworth, Bill Fuller, Jeff Coleman, Scott Shearen, Hale Hillhouse and Bill Pendleton will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
