Kathy “Regina” Wallen – Rye Cove, VA
Kathy “Regina” Wallen, 48, Rye Cove, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 24th, 2018.
Regina Wallen was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. She was an avid animal lover who had a passion for her family, their farm, and the outdoors.
She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Keith Wallen. Together they built a life that included two daughters; Breanna Wallen & Brittney Rhoton, husband Seth Rhoton, & granddaughter Kolbie Rhoton. In addition, she is survived by an adoring family including; parents, Ronnie & Carolyn Kern, sister, Mona Bowen and husband William “Mike” Bowen, sister-in-law, Patricia Lane and husband Mike Lane. She is also survived by nephews, Adam Bowen & Brandon Lane, nieces, Molly Bowen & Elizabeth Quillen and husband, Matt Quillen, and great nieces Kimber & Willow Quillen. Regina also had three special daughters, Ida Nielsen (Denmark), Charlotte Anschutz (Germany), and Ira Pollanen (Finland). Their life also included an affectionate community of friends.
Regina is preceded in death by her grandparents, Garland & Sybil Kern & Lois McDavid.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Sanders officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Holder and Journey Home.
Burial will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers, with Emmit Rawls serving as an honorary pallbearer.
