Junior Wallen – Robinette Valley

Junior Wallen, 88, Robinette Valley, passed away, Monday morning, December 12, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Wallen was born at Natural Tunnel in Scott County, VA on August 6, 1923, the son of the late Charlie and Etta Mae Southers Wallen.
He was a quiet, simple, but hardworking man. He worked 40 plus years as a cement finisher for various construction companies. He loved to farm and work in his garden. Junior was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Wallen; son Bobby Wallen; brothers, Talmadge Wallen, Clarence Wallen, and Curt Light; sisters, Ella Lane and Nannie Carter.
He is survived by his son, Charles D. Wallen and wife, Phyllis, Robinette Valley, grandson, David Wallen, Mt. Carmel; TN; brother, Ralph Wallen, Kingsport ,TN; sister-in-law, Betty Wallen, Weber City, VA; dear family friend, Jimmy Williams; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel with Ministers Johnny Duncan and Bill Tignor officiating. The Lee Smith Singers will provide the music.
Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA with Larry Wallen, J. C. Wallen, Carl Wallen, Jimmy Ray Carter, Jimmy Williams, and David Frank serving as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Junior's special nephews, Larry Wallen and J.C. Wallen, and his wonderful friend, Jimmy Williams for the support they gave during his illness and other difficult family times.
