David Wallen – Mount Carmel, TN
Michael David Wallen, 44, Mount Carmel, TN passed away early Tuesday (July 12, 2016) morning the result of a very tragic, useless incident.
David was born September 10, 1971 in Kingsport, TN. He was the son of Charles and Phyllis (Duncan) Wallen.
He was a former employee of the City of Kingsport and Holliston Mills.A 1989 graduate of Rye Cove High School.
David was truly loved by his parents. Their lives will never be the same.
His grandparents, Rev. Dale and Mary Duncan and Junior and Alice Wallen; aunt, Virginia Duncan; and uncles, John Duncan and Bobby Wallen preceded him in death.
In addition to his parents, Charles and Phyllis Wallen, Duffield, VA, he is survived by a very special loving aunt, Shirley Duncan; uncles, Bobby Duncan and wife, Doris, Jim Duncan and wife, Joan, and Tommy Duncan and wife, Janice; along with a host of cousins and friends. He also leaves behind his loving pets, Mac and Lacey.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Bill Tignor and Brother T.J. Hood officiating. Chris Holder and Journey Home will provide the music.
Burial will follow the service at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Scottie Duncan, Tim Duncan, Larry Wallen, Carl Wallen, Jimmy Williams, Peyton Lane, and David Cassell will serve as pallbearers. Tony Duncan and J. C. Wallen will serve as honorary pallbearers.
It is the request of the family that no food is brought to the home. While they would appreciate the gesture, the family is so small they feel it would go to waste.
