Lakie Vicars ? Nickelsville, VA Mrs. Lakie E. Vicars, 91, Nickelsville, VA went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 20, 2007 at the Wexford House, Kingsport, TN. Mrs. Vicars was born in Russell County, VA on December 27, 1915 to the late Joseph Samuel Rubin Scott Lell and Rachel Hicks Lell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Bascom Vicars; a son, Donald Wayne Vicars, sister, Kansada Lell and brother, Gilmer, Everett and Paris Lell. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors are her daughters, Frances Morgan and husband, Donald, Concord, CA, Betty Jacob and husband, Wendel, Castlewood, VA and Nadine Shelley and husband, Danny, Bristol, VA, sons, Garnette Vicars, Bristol, VA, Jerry Vicars and Charlie Vicars, both of Nickelsville, VA, sisters, Dorothy Maxfield, Nickelsville, VA and Bertha Dotson, Lebanon OH, a brother, Joe Lell, Jr., Castlewood, VA; 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. in the Juanita S. Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Felty officiating. Graveside services will be conducted Friday, August 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Amos Cemetery in Cleveland, VA. The family will meet at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
