Frank Daniel Van Zant – Gate City, VA
Frank Daniel Van Zant, 66, Gate City, VA passed away, Friday, March 2, 2018 at his residence.
Frank was born in Lee County, VA on September 16, 1951, and was the son of the late Toy Everett and Lillie (Vaughn) Van Zant.
He was a great father, papaw, and great papaw. He is loved and will be missed by many. He was the best man we ever knew.
His wife, Carolyn (Gardner) Van Zant (2013); sister, Darlene May; and brothers, Gene and James Van Zant preceded him in death.
His survivors are his daughters, Caressa Van Zant and Carla Dingus; grandchildren, Meranda Dingus, Shawn Hill and wife, Tina, and Shane Dingus; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Bowman and Joyce Taylor and husband, Bill; brothers, Ted Van Zant and wife,, Barbara, Virgil Van Zant, and Lee Van Zant and wife, Janie; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Bledsoe officiating.
Entombment will follow at Lee County Memorial Gardens, Pennington Gap, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
