George Herbert Vail, 68, Gate City, VA passed away, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at his residence.
His wish was to be cremated and this poem to be run as his obituary.

What a beautiful world we live on
From coast to coast in all parts of the world
We see a beauty no one person in a lifetime could ever see.
Yet we have done everything in the last 100 years to destroy it.

At the bottom of all this is Greed.

Of all the greatest people that have ever lived, each have looked towards the day
that the world would live in peace and harmony with all men, women and children.

That has turned into a dream, one that I fear, I will never see.

We seek greater ways of destroying the world and the people of this earth.

I am one man, one life and only one voice.
My life has come to an end.

One last wish I have is that the people of this world will one day rise up and say “enough” to what we are letting the greedy do to our Beautiful World and to our beloved children.

So goes the earth, so goes the people who live on it…
