James Truelove- 64, Kingsport, TN., went to be with our Lord September 6, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Washington County, TN. on June 6, 1944 he was the son of the late William Hill Truelove and Gladys Oliver Truelove. He served his country in the United States Army with pride and honor. He retired from the Kingsport Press after 37 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted member of the Apostolic Christian Church and served on the board of directors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Thomas Truelove, and one sister, Patricia Ann Underwood.
Surviving is his loving wife, Alma Jean Truelove of the home; one son, Jeff Truelove and wife, Joanne; one daughter ,Jennifer Seiber and husband, Terry; four grandchildren, Jacquelyn , Jarrett, Josiah and Julianne Truelove.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 8, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Greg Street and the Rev. Edward Davis officiating. Mike Boggs, Darren McQue, Tamera Martin, Joey Hall and Andrea Robinson will provide the music.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3 of Kingsport, TN and #265 of Gate City, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard, Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Tri-Cities Memory Gardens, Kingsport, TN.
Dewayne Griffin, Tim Griffin, Scotty Maness, Steven Maness, Shannon Maness and Jacob Maness will serve as pallbearers. Justin Griffin, Matthew Griffin, Jordan Griffin, Christopher Maness and Zoomy Wells will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends will be meeting at the cemetery for the graveside service.
