Charles K. Tipton, 80, Blountville, TN passed away, Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the Life Care Center, Gray, TN.
Mr. Tipton was born in Scott County, VA on December 22, 1933, son of the late John Everet and Margaret Ellen Bledsoe Tipton.
Charles was a painter and a veteran of the United States Army and Army National Guard.
He is survived by his sisters, Clettia Moore, Blountville, TN and Jewell Vanzant and husband, Lynton, Kingsport, TN; brothers, John E. Tipton, Jr. and wife, Elsie, Bloomingdale, TN, Roy C. Tipton and wife, Deloris, Kingsport, TN, and James H. Tipton and wife, Jean, Kingsport, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Tipton officiating. The Tipton family will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Jerry Bledsoe, Mark Moore, Rick Moore, Frank Bachman, Ronnie Vaughn, and Howard Townsend will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of the Life Care Center, Gray, TN for their love and care of Charles.
