Robert C. Thorpe, 42, of entered into rest June 16, 2009 at Indian Path Medical Center.
Robert was born May 8, 1967 in Sullivan County, TN to the late Ray Chester Thorpe and Pauline Thorpe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Ann Thorpe. Surviving is his wife, Annette Sweeney Thorpe, Kingsport, TN; son, Michael Thorpe; brothers, Terry Thorpe, Gate City, VA, Don Thorpe, Gate City, VA, Jack and Melissa Thorpe, Kingsport, TN, and Jeffery Lane, Hiltons, VA; sister, Joyce Lane, Duffield, VA; special niece, Erica Falin, Duffield, VA.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Will Shewey officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Thorpe/Bishop Cemetery in Bishop Town Community of Scott County, VA.
William Skeens, Charles Reed, Randy Compton, Troy Anderson, Roy Rogers, Ted Young and Randall Winegar will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kingsport Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 3952, Kingsport, Tenn. 37664
The family will meet at 10 a.m. at the funeral home for the graveside service.
