Shirley Thomas

Shirley Ann Thomas – Kingsport, TN
Shirley Ann Thomas was born on August 9, 1935 and gained her Heavenly reward when she met Jesus on February 6, 2015.
She was the daughter of the late Charles “Doc” and Verda Harris.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Ernest Thomas; her daughter, Hope Thomas of the home; and son, Rick Thomas.
In addition she is leaving behind four grandchildren, Cynde Thomas Peters and husband, Brad, Rikki McCugh and husband, Ben, Devin Thomas and wife, Erin, and Jordan Thomas. She had two very special great grandchildren, Mya Thomas and Jenna Thomas.
Shirley and Ernest fell in love at a very young age and have been sweethearts for life. They have had a wonderful marriage and were blessed with a great life and loving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She loved not only family, but her friends and church family as well. She was currently a member of The Promise Church. She was formerly a fifty plus year member of The Apostolic Lighthouse Church.
In honor of her wishes, she chose to only have a private family and special friends service at the time of her entombment. Pastor Jonathan Lovelace and Mike Vicars will be conducting this special service.
She was called “Sugar”, “Mom”, and “Mamaw” by those who loved her so dearly. We are going to miss her terribly. In fact, we already do and there is a huge void. In saying that, we know she wouldn’t trade what she has now for anything. We told her as she was leaving this world to pick out a mansion big enough for all of us. “We love you and we will see you soon”.
