Shelby Joyce Thacker, 68, Kingsport, TN entered into rest at Holston Valley Medical Center
May 13, 2015.
She was born in Virginia May 19, 1946 and was the daughter of Fritz and Effie Cox McAmis. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents; a sister, Betty Sue McAmis and a brother, Richard Frank “Buddy” McAmis preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Angelia Reed, Kingsport TN and Jennifer Thorp and husband Bobby, Gate City, VA; sister, Lydia Estel Stokes, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Horace Simpson Warden and wife, Bethany, Amanda Poteat and husband, Tim, and Larry Simpson Denny; great grandchildren, Hannah Warden, Kitiana Poteat, and Zyler Poteat; nieces, Mildred Stokes, Karen Smith, and Teresa Price.
The body will be cremated. A Memorial service for Mrs. Thacker will be held a later date.
