Hubert Bobby Thacker, 76, Gate City, VA passed away, Sunday, January 25, 2015 at NOVA Health and Rehab, Weber City, VA.
Mr. Thacker was born in Scott County, VA on May 25, 1938 the son of the late Hubert and Estil Fields Thacker.
He was retired from Square-D Electrical.
In addition to his parents, his brothers, Eldridge and Wayne Thacker preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife with whom he had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary, Shirley J. Thacker, Gate City, VA; sons, Mike Thacker and wife, Angie, Kingsport, TN, Daniel Thacker and wife, Sherri, Gate City, VA, and Robby Thacker and wife, Tricia, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Angel Thacker and fiance, Cody Dishner, Nikki Repass, Savannah Repass, Trey Repass, Aurora Repass, and Kylie Repass; sisters, Barbara Lawson, Kingsport, TN and Nancy Fields, Kingsport, TN; brother, Gary Thacker and Betty Horton, Duffield, VA; sisters-in-law, Sue Thacker, Church Hill, TN, Faye Duncan, Clinchport, VA, and Dorothy Cunningham, Kingsport, TN; brothers-in-law, Bobby R. Lane, Clinchport, VA and Jerry Lane, Vacaville, CA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, January, 27, 2015 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Brother Larry Tolley officiating. Family and friends will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Crabtree Cemetery in the Yuma community of Gate City, VA. Mark Spivey, Rob Hammond, Zachary Fentress, Randy Powers, Cody Dishner, Chris Newsome, Trey Repass, and Todd Fields will serve as pallbearers. Charlie Love, Ed Reed, Bobby Gilliam, W. T. Jones, and Dale Bellamy will serve as honorary pallbearers.
