Thelma Antlee Lane Templeton – Gate City, VA. Thelma Templeton – 88, of Gate City, VA. entered into rest December 11, 2009 at the Brian Center Nursing Home.
Mrs. Templeton is preceded in death by her parents, Amos Clayton Lane and Pearl Edith Bellamy Lane.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Templeton St. Martin, a sister; Shirley Ruth Lane and brothers; Rev. Claude Lane and Edgar Lane.
Surviving are her husband, Carl Templeton, Gate City, VA., daughters and son-in-law, Linda Coleman, Kingsport, TN. and Sandra Pendleton and husband, Raymond, Gate City, VA. Son-in-law, Roderick St.Martin, Gate City, VA. Sisters; Helen Calhoun and husband, Calvin, Gate City, VA., Betty Sue Williams and husband, Darrell, Sweetwater, TN., Shelby McConnell and husband Phil, Lawrenceville, GA. and Erma Lane of Gate City, VA. One brother Rev. Paul Lane and wife Christine, Kingsport, TN. Grandchildren, Mary Ann Trimble and husband Dirk, Rusty and wife, Lara Pendleton, Tom Pendleton, John St. Martin and wife Davida, Caroline and husband Shawn Raiszadeh. Great -grandchildren, Samantha and Zoey Trimble, Jarrod Casper, Sydney Pendleton and Ally St.Martin. Along with several nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family will be receiving family and friends 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2009 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be at 1:00p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Bob Cloud and Rev. Paul Blessing officiating. Sherry and Ben Christian will provide the music.
Interment will follow in the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
Larry Calhoun, Dwight Lane, Roger Lane, Mitchell Williams, Phil McConnell, Jr., Mark Calhoun, Wayne Templeton, Greg Ervin and Huey Ervin will serve as pallbearers.
In Lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to Alley's Chapel Scholarship fund and Gate City United Methodist Church at attn. Wanda McConnell, 1144 Sorrel Creek Lane, Gate City, VA.24251.
