Mrs. Ada Kate Musick Templeton, 83, Gate City, VA passed away, Thursday, December 8, 2011.
Mrs. Templeton was born in Scott County, VA on December 21, 1927, the daughter of the late Samuel Aston and Ida Hammonds Musick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Lee Templeton (2004); son, Daryl Scott Templeton (2004); sisters, Rosie Templeton, Monnie Ervin, May Ervin, and Lillis Pendleton; brothers, Herbert, Raymond, and Luther Musick.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Billy Wayne Gilmer, Nickelsville, VA and Freda and Ricky Youngblood, Kingsport, TN: grandchildren; Vance Gilmer (Tina), Chris Gilmer (Kathy), Ginger Bartlett (Greg), Jeremiah Moore (Jamie); great grandchildren, Cori, Conner, Chloe, and Colten Gilmer, sister, Letha Lane, Weber City, VA; brothers-in-law, James Templeton, Kingsport, TN and Robert Templeton, Homa, LA; sisters-in-law, Billie Quillen, Gate City, VA and Louise Miller, Johnson City, TN; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Juanita S. Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Riley Boy officiating and a Eulogy will be given by Rev. Ricky Youngblood. Riley Boy will provide the music.
The burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Joel Gonce and the staff of Wexford House for their love and care of Mrs. Templeton.
