John Roy Taylor, 69, Kingsport, TN passed away, Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Indian Path Medical Center.
Mr. Taylor was born in Church Hill, TN on May 29, 1943 to the late Barny and Mae Derrick Taylor. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Bud Taylor preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Ray Taylor and wife, Rebecca Taylor, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Aaron Tankersley, and Morgan Tankersley; great grandchild, Dewayne Richard Keith Taylor, sister, Edith Skeens; brothers, Worley Taylor and Earl Taylor; nephews, Timmy Taylor, Tony Taylor, Stevie Duncan, Curtis Duncan, Eddie Taylor, Mike Duncan, and Mike Wilson; and niece, Pam Duncan.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Ray and Rebecca Taylor. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jay Bradley and Rev. Randy McMillion officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m, Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Old Union Cemetery, Church Hill, TN. Ray Taylor, Timmy Taylor, Tony Taylor, Stevie Duncan, Curtis Duncan, and Mike Johnson will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
