Clint "Wob" Taylor – Duffield, VA
Clint Wallace "Wob" Taylor, 78, Duffield, VA passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at Indian Path Medical Center after a very long illness.
Wob was a loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, and a great uncle. He loved farming, fishing, and gardening. He was the most gentle person anyone could meet. He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord and talked to him on a daily basis.
He retired from the glass plant in Kingsport, TN in December of 1976 due to bad health.
Wob was preceded in death by his father Echol Taylor; mother, Mayme Taylor; step-mother, Lillie Taylor; father-in-law, Robert Burke; mother-in-law, Kate Burke; three sisters, Kate Moody, Kathleen Taylor, and Nana Lee Kerns.
He is survived by his wife of 42 ½ years, Anna (Sue) Taylor, of the home; brothers; James Taylor, Duffield, VA, Worley Carter and wife, Retta, Duffield, VA, Charles Taylor, Duffield, VA, and Frayse Taylor, Duffield, VA; sisters, Betty Wallen, Weber City, VA, Mary Bishop and husband, Wayne, Yuma, VA, Devota Smith and husband, Bill, Gate City, VA, Dena Bates and husband, Dan, Bishoptown, VA, and Velma Bray, Reidsville, NC; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. A.J. Lane officiating. Marcus and Christie Smith will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 5, 2011 at the Robbins Cemetery in Pattonsville, VA. Bill Burke, Harold Burke, Charles Burke, William Bishop, Dan Bates, Greg Hood, Nick Hood, Jake Hood, and Adam Hood will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Monday to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family wished to thank everyone who cared for Wob at the Brookside Dialysis Center for the past 8 years, and to the doctors and nurses who cared for him.
