Bertha Arline Sizemore Stidham, 69, Duffield, VA passed away, Friday, August 5, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Stidham was born in Stonega, VA on February 13, 1942, the daughter of the late Edward and Callie Sizemore. She worked for 27years as a CNA for Mountainview Regional Hospital, formerly St. Mary's Hospital, Norton, VA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Stidham; sister, Lillie Owen; brothers; Fred Sizemore and Echol Sizemore; brothers-in-law, Leroy Owens and Junior Lee; and nephew, Derrick Harmon.
Surviving are her sons, Fred Edward Lee Stidham, Duffield, VA and Roger Stidham and wife, Glenda, Duffield, VA; granddaughter, Courtney Lynn Stidham, Duffield, VA; sisters, Jeanine Harmon, OH, Mary Jane Gardner, Big Stone Gap, VA, Theda Jennings and husband, H.D., Gate City, VA, Sandra Baker and husband, James, Big Stone Gap, VA, Linda Smith and husband, Cloise, Duffield, VA, Patricia Lee, Big Stone Gap, VA, Kathy Hoskins and husband, Frank, Big Stone Gap, VA, Darlene Barnette and husband, Charles, Big Stone Gap, VA, and Joy Toney and husband, John, Kingsport, TN; nephew. Troy Smith and wife, Tammy; niece, Amy Smith, and a very special great niece, Ashley Smith, all of Duffield, VA; along with several other nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m, Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Stidham Family Cemetery, Purchase Ridge community of Scott County, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of one's choice in honor of Mrs. Stidham.
