Junior Starnes – Kingsport, TN
Samuel "Junior" Starnes, 73, Kingsport, TN passed away, Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Kingsport, TN, where he resided all his life, on October 21, 1939, to the late Sam and Ethel Starnes.
He attended St. Mark United Methodist Church. He had a love for people, his family, and his beloved pet cat "Gray Fox". He will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, his infant son, Kenneth Lee Starnes (1971); and his sister, Betty Jean Starnes preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, James "Bubby" Starnes, Kingsport, TN; daughter, Lisa Light and husband, Nathan, Mt. Carmel, TN; ex-wife, Betty Starnes Fields, Kingsport, TN; grandson, Wesley , Bristol, TN; great granddaughter, Madison, Bristol ,TN; brother, Joe Starnes, Kingsport, TN; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at West View Baptist Church, Kingsport, TN with Pastor Mike Stout, Pastor Cecil Sturgill, Pastor Jerry Scalf, and Rev. Mark Huffine officiating. The West View Baptist Church Choir will provide the music.
