Mary Frances Starnes, 83, Gate City, VA passed away, Friday, December 3, 2010 at Indian Path Medical Center.
Mrs. Starnes was born in Scott County, VA on May 4, 1927 to the late Everett Bruce and Lydia Helen McClellan Williams.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Howard Starnes, son, Sonny Starnes, sisters, Olene Pendleton and June Pendleton, brother, Troy Williams, and two infant brothers.
Surviving is her daughter, Dianne White and husband, Eugene, Rogersville, TN; grandchildren, Carrie Dykes and husband, Daniel, Moria White, Stephen Starnes and Jodi, Brandon McConnell and wife, Jennifer; great grandchildren, Breanna Dykes, Brand Starnes, Marley White, and Luke McConnell; daughter-in-law, Linda Starnes, Gate City, VA; sister, Vivian Nash, Kingsport, TN; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at Mrs. Starnes residence in Gate City. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Tignor and the Rev. Wrightly Salling officiating. The Upward Way Quartet will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Monday to go in procession to the graveside service.
