Linda G. Starnes, 67, Ft. Blackmore, VA passed away, Monday, March 28, 2016 at Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, VA.
Linda was born in Scott County, VA on June 27, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Worley Castle and the late Nora Johnson.
In addition to her sisters, Zelma Hicks, Freida Collins, and Elsie Kilgore; and brother, Ben Finch preceded her in death.
She is survived by her significant other, Walter K. “Woody” Woodward, Ft. Blackmore, VA; daughters, Brenda Kilgore, Kingsport, TN, Sherry Kilgore, Kingsport, TN, and Judy Kilgore, Kingsport, TN; step daughter, Kathy Hobson, Ft. Blackmore, VA; grandchildren, Megan Babb, Kingsport, TN and Eathan Babb, Kingsport, TN; sisters, Angie Belle Spivey and husband, Gary, Gate City, VA, Patsy Compton, Kingsport, TN, and Maxie Castle, Castlewood, VA; brother, Teddy Finch and wife, Holley, MS; her special niece, Nora Robinette and husband, Billy, Dungannon, VA; along with several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from12-2 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Cecil Kern officiating.
Burial will follow at the Banner Cemetery, Dungannon, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gate City Funeral Home to help defray the funeral cost.
