Willie J. "Bill" Stanley, 80, Duffield, VA passed away, Monday, August 13, 2012 at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. Stanley was born in Scott County, VA on May 30 1932 to the late George Barlow and Lula Bessie Laney Stanley.
In addition to his parents, his sisters, Martha Edna Stanley, Nannie Lee Austin, and Lizzie Jane Bowen, and brother, Johnny Emmit Stanley preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons, Willie R. "Billy" Stanley and wife, Ronda and Paul Stanley; grandchildren, Latasha Stanley Sisco and husband, James, Kayti Stanley Ward and husband, Andrew, and Brittany Stanley and fiancé, Josh Lane; great grandchildren, Nolan Sisco, Kaelynn Lane, Avery Stanley, and Jordynn Ward; brother, James Elmer Stanley and wife, Cecile; step-brother, Duke Carter; special brother-in-law, Jarl Bowen; special niece, Edna Bowen; along with several other nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Denny Hass officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Hall Cemetery in the Stanleytown community of Scott County, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Ridgecrest Manor for their love and care of Bill.
