Ruth W. Stallard, 84, Nickelsville, VA entered into rest Thursday, June 30, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Stallard was born in Scott County, VA on June 3, 1927, the daughter of the late William and Mattie Victoria Templeton Williams.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lotus Barton, Estell Hensley, Rexie Rayfield, and Beulah Williams; and brothers, Roy Williams, Harlan Williams, Kyle Williams, and Kell Williams.
Surviving is her husband, Scott Stallard, Nickelsville, VA; sons, Bill Stallard and wife, Debra, Gate City, VA and John Stallard, Nickelsville, VA and fiancée, Debbie Ashens, Kingsport, TN; granddaughter, Ruth Ann Stallard, Kingsport, TN; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Velma Williams, Gate City, VA; treasured cousin, Bill Ervin, Wadlow Gap, VA; her best friend who is like a daughter, Molly Wright, Castlewood, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. R.D. Stallard and Thomas Hillman officiating.
Burial will follow at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Sons, family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
