Margaret Spivey, 85, Gate City, VA passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN.
Mrs. Spivey was born in Scott County, VA .on March 10, 1932 to the late Alford and Nancy McDavid Quillen.
In addition to her parents, her husband, James Spivey ; sisters, Georgia Austin, Ruth France, Dorothy Quillen; brothers, Fred Quillen and J.L. Quillen preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, George Spivey and wife, Peggy, Blountville, TN, Gary Spivey and wife, Angie Belle, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Tessa Snapp and husband, Kent, Brent Spivey and wife, Brandy; great grandchildren ,Sydnee Snapp, Allyson Snapp, Kenleigh Snapp Brooke Spivey and Brevan Spivey; along with several nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, May 22 2017 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Lester Morelock and Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Sydnee Snapp will provide music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Ponderosa Cemetery, Gate City, VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the graveside service.
