Kenneth "Kenney" Snavely – Rye Cove, VA
Kenneth Snavely, 21, Rye Cove Community of Scott County, VA passed away unexpectedly, Friday, May 25, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born March 26, 1991 in Sullivan County, Tn. and resided in Scott County, Va. his entire life. He was a 2010 graduate of Rye Cove High School. He attended Bishop Memorial F.W.B Church.
Kenney was a lover of horses and was in many horse shows. He loved his coon dogs and going hunting with his buddies, Michael Owens, Dustin McDavid, Shawn Hecht, Mark Dingus, Little brother Paul and many other friends.
Kenney was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Will and Ellen Snavely, maternal great grandparents Elmore "Nick" and Laura Darnell, and maternal grandparent Joe Babb.
Kenney is survived by his parents, Paul and Tina Snavely (of the home); brothers, Paul Snavely, Jr. (of the home), and William Snavely, Ft. Myers, Fl.; sisters, Melody Sybert and husband David, Rye Cove, Va., and Lynn Morrison and husband Bill, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; grandmother, Mary Ruth Babb, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; uncles, Garnie Snavely, Kingsport, Tn., James (Carolyn) Snavely, Ft. Blackmore, Va., Ray (Gay) Snavely, Ft. Blackmore, Va., Junior Babb, Gate City, Va., Ricky (Sharon) Babb, Duffield, Va.; aunts, Henry (Beaulah) Kern, Duffield, Va., Don (Anna Ruth) Haskins, Las Cruces, New Mexico, Don (Peggy) Dockery, Ft. Blackmore, Va., Angela Phillips, Church Hill, Tn., and Ronald (Shannon) Silcox, Clintwood, Va.; nephews, Matthew Williams and Jaden Petrusak, Rye Cove, Va.; nieces, Harley Carter, and Elizabeth Carter, both of Rye Cove, Va., Sarah Mann, Ft. Blackmore, Va., and a host of many friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May, 31 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of Gate City Funeral Home and any time at the residence of his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012, with Rev. Daryl Hurd, Rev. Charles Scott, and Rev. James Snavely officiating. The Toke Hensley singers and Rev. Charles Scott will provide the music.
Matthew Williams, Robbie Dockery, Dustin McDavid, Michael Owens, David Hammonds, David Sybert, Bill Morrison, and Mark Dingus will serve as pallbearers.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June, 1 2012 at the Snavely Family Cemetery, Rye Cove Community. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery.
The family request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made at Gate City Funeral to help with Kenney's final expenses.
