Mrs. Linda Jean Smith, 63, Gate City, VA passed away, Friday, April 9, 2010 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Smith was born in Scott County, VA on April 4, 1947, the daughter of the late Gene and Gertrude Fields Page.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Nanny and Sue; and brothers, Bud, Bill, and Willie Page. She was a member of Moore's Memorial Baptist Church. She was a special mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had love for everyone she met and everyone she met loved her.
Surviving is her husband of forty-five years, Scott Smith, Gate City, VA; daughters, Regina France and husband, George, Bristol, VA, and Tanya Shuler and husband, Brad, Green County, TN; son, David Smith and wife, Yvonne, Gate City, VA; grandsons, Cory, D.J., Jacob, Tyler, Ethan, and Justin, special grandson, Jeremy; granddaughters, Jordan, Savannah, Mackenzie, Jessica, and Rain; great grandchildren, Lexie and Zachary; brother, Mike Page; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Wrightly Salling and the Rev. G.W. White officiating. Pine Grove Harmony will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will be meeting at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m., Monday to go in procession to the graveside service.
The family would like to convey a very special thanks to Gary and Beulah for their love and care during this difficult time.
