Linda Jean Smith, 64, Gate City, VA passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at her residence.
Linda was born in Sullivan County, TN on August 26, 1948 to James Edgar and the late Eva Jean McDavid Smith.
In addition to her parents, her paternal grandparents, Sam L. and Centinial Smith and her maternal grandparents, H.E. (Hugh) and Della McDavid preceded her in death.
She is survived by her father, James E. Smith, Daniel Boone, VA; sister, Karen McCrary and husband, Jon, Gray, TN; brother, Phil Smith, Daniel Boone, VA; niece, Summer McCrary, Gray, TN; nephew, Marcus Smith, Duffield, VA; god children, J.J., Debbie, and Julie Hulse and their children.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Gate City Funeral Home, Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. R.D. Stallard officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Jon McCrary, Marcus Smith, Owen Franklin, Rodney Vaughn, John Husle, and Ralph Sparks will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m., Sunday to go in procession to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Virginia, 5825 Arrowhead Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 in the name of Linda Jean Smith.
