Mr. Smith was born in Sullivan County, TN on October 10, 1959 to the late Joe Roy Smith and Helen Peters Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Peters Smith, Gate City, VA; sister, Lycrecia Smith, Gate City, VA; brothers, Roger Smith and Rita, Gate City, VA, Jeffery Smith Sr., Kingsport, TN; nephew, Jeffery Smith Jr.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Coy Butler and Rev. Marvin Egan officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA. James Pierson, Kelvin Kimbler, Jason Kimbler, Tommy Musick, Justin Gillenwater, Jeffery Smith Jr. will serve as Pallbearers with Michael Sanders, Wayne Sanders, Bill Frazier, Mack Music will serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Gate City Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m, November 4, 2015, to go in procession to the graveside service.
