Mable Sue Dixon Sluss, 74, of Nickelsville, VA, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at her home. She was born in Scott County, VA on December 16, 1937 to the late Janie and George Dixon.
She was preceded in death by mother, Janie Kilgore Dixon, her father, George Dixon and niece, Dawn Martin.
Survivors are her husband Jay Sluss of Nickelsville, VA., sons, Randal Sluss and wife Kimberly, Ryan Sluss and wife Tammy, brothers, Don Dixon and friend Jean, Buddy Dixon and wife Ann, Granddaughters, Lydia Sluss, Jasmine Davis, Katie Sluss and Whitney Arnold, grandson, Brandon Dodson, nephews, Michael Dixon and wife Tammy and Dwight Dixon and wife Susan, nieces, Debra Dixon Doss and husband Gary, Diane Dixon Plott and husband Jonathan and Donna Dixon, aunt, Etta Baker, and friends, Loretta, Lois, Louise, Charlene, Thomas and Ruth.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Steve Collins officiating. David and Debbie Easterling will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 29, 2012 at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will meet at the funeral home to go in procession.
The Sluss family would like to send special thanks to Advance Care, Mountain Regional Hospice, Meals of Love, Ed and Peggy Seibert and Shirley Elam. Thanks go out to friends in the community.
