Kenneth Glenn “Gobble” Sluss, 70, Nickelsville, VA passed away, Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Russell County Hospital, Lebanon, VA.
Gobble was born in Nickelsville, VA on January 4, 1951, and was the son of the late James and Mary Kate (Finch) Sluss.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Jimmy Darrell Sluss, half-brothers, Warren Sluss, and D.F. Sluss, and a half-sister, Nettie Lane preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Kate (Sluss) Gibson and husband, Corey, and Loretta Ann Sluss, grandchildren, Nevaeh Gibson, Sabrina Gibson, and Chloe Gibson, brother, Johnny Sluss and wife, Phyllis, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jim Gibson officiating. Toke Hensley and Singers will provide the music.
Burial will follow at the Banner and Finch Cemetery on Fall Creek, Dungannon, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
It is strongly suggested for those attending to wear a face covering and practice the social distancing protocols.
