Claude Ancil Sluss, 75, Dungannon, VA passed away, Monday, February 17, 2014 at Holston Manor, Kingsport, TN.
Claude was born in Scott County, VA on December 10. 1938. He was the son of the late Clarence William and Myrtle Jane Ramsey Sluss.
In addition to his parents, his mother and father-in-law, Nettie and W.M. (Jr.) Lane preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Narnie Lane Sluss, Dungannon, VA; daughters, Melissa Wild and husband, Dana, Knoxville, TN, Julie Sluss and Rickey Dooley, Dungannon, VA, Annette Graham, Nickelsville, VA, and Tammy Hughes, Dungannon, VA; son, Tony Sluss and wife, Linda, Sophia, NC; grandchildren, special little buddy, Jacob Dooley, Chris Wild, Adam Sluss, Glenn Talbert, Kristin Graham, Brittany Graham, Shawn Hughes, and Misty Fawler; several great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Pritchard, Dungannon, VA and Dorothy Nickles and husband, Roy, Weber City, VA; brother, Rev. Elwood Sluss and wife, Margaret, Gas City, IN; several other special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at Sabre Chapel Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.
