Mrs. Stella Mae (Williams) Sloan, 75, Duffield, VA passed away, Thursday, October 10, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Sloan was born in Scott County, VA on March 7, 1938 to the late John Lincoln and Sarah Ellen Neeley Williams.
She retired from Cumberland Glove after 30 years of service and was a member of Sloantown Commuity Church.
In addition to her parents, her brothers, John "Hoover" Jessee Williams and Charlie Williams preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Forest Olen Sloan, Duffield, VA; daughters, Alisa Smith and husband, John, Rogersville, TN, Judy Wilmoth and husband, Albert, Church Hill, TN, and Sandra Sloan and fiance, Greg Sloan, Kingsport, TN; son, Eddie Sloan and wife, Sherre, Church Hill, TN; grandchildren, Chad and Kayla Sloan, Church Hill, TN, Matt and Danielle Sloan, Mt. Carmel, TN, Isaac Smith, Rogersville, TN, Lynn Wilmoth, Church Hill, TN, and a special expected great grandchild; sisters, Betty Hughes and husband, John, Johnson City, TN, Monnie Gibson, Gate City, VA, Geneva Lane and husband, A.J., Duffield, VA, and Lou Dema Hensley, Gate City, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Hoot Sloan Cemetery in the Sloantown community of Scott County, VA with Evangelist Kenneth Neeley and Kevin Vincent officiating. Gary Sloan and Norman Sloan will provide the music. Chad Sloan, Matt Sloan, Lynn Wilmoth, Greg Sloan, Willie Sloan, and Roy Egan will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Sloantown Community Church, 202 Halo Drive, Duffield, VA.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
