Mrs. Ofa M. Sloan, 88, Kingsport, TN passed away, Saturday, December 25, 2010 at the Elmcroft Assisted Living, Kingsport, TN.
Mrs. Sloan was born in Appalachia, VA on March 10, 1922, the daughter of the late Charlie and Callie Bryant.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Burley Sloan, and brothers, Ernest and Charlie Bryant preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, H. Lewis Sloan, Fall Branch, TN and Marlin Sloan and wife, Karen, Clemmons, NC; grandchildren, Jennifer Conway and husband, Paul, Amanda Sloan, and Brent Sloan; great grandchildren, Preston and Lyndsey Conway; brothers, Cecil Bryant and wife, Dottie, McLean, VA and Donald Bryant, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Juanita S. Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Olen Sloan officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Sloan Town Community Cemetery.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
