Bobby Lee Sloan, 70, Duffield, VA passed away, Monday, February 11, 2013 at Bristol Wellmont Hospice.
Bobby was born in Scott County, VA on July 17, 1942 to the late Robert L. and Bonnie Rhoton Sloan.
In addition to his parents his grandson, Mathew Adams and his sister, Patsy Hall preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Vonda Sloan, Duffield, VA; daughter, Lisa Sharon Adams, Gate City, VA; sons, Ricky Lee Sloan, Blackwater, VA and Mike Keith Sloan and wife, Joyce Ann, Piney Flats, TN; grandchildren, Hunter Sloan, Cody Sloan, Jordan Sloan, Andy Sexton, and Josh Sexton; 1 great grandchild; step grandchildren, Dee Matheny, Mindy Donohue and Donnie Roberts; 6 step great grandchildren; sisters, Morella Duncan, Yuma, VA, Shirley Jones and husband, Riges, Norfolk, VA, and Joan Stapleton, Gate City, VA; brothers, Norman Sloan, Duffield, VA and Ronald Sloan, Daniel Boone, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Aaron Edens officiating. The Edens family will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Friday, February 15, 2013 at Sloantown Cemetery in the Sloantown Community of Scott County, VA. Ricky Sloan, Mike Sloan, Hunter Sloan, Jordan Sloan, Cody Sloan, and Norman Sloan will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
