Robert Eugene Sizemore Jr., 34, Gate City, VA
Robert Eugene Sizemore Jr. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 2, 2018 peacefully with his loving family by his side.
Robert was born on March 31, 1984.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Mary Ruth and Edward Lane, and paternal grandparents James Eckel and Juanita Sizemore.
He loved to spend time with his family on the farm riding 4-wheelers and horses, also hunting, fishing, and enjoying life. Robert touched many lives and never met a stranger. He loved the Lord and loved sharing his testimony up until the end of his life. He was a member of Red Hill Freewill Baptist Church. Robert was an avid Gate City Blue Devil and Alabama Fan. He loved to play his guitar and sing.
He is survived by his wife, Jessica Ann (White) Sizemore; daughter, Ashley Nicole Sizemore; son, Ryan Edward Sizemore of the home, father, Bobby Sizemore Gate City, VA; mother, Patsy Coley and stepfather Jim Coley Gate City, VA; aunts, Cathy Walker, Rita Sizemore (James), both of Ft. Blackmore, VA, Brenda Gilliam (Terry), Duffield, VA, Tammy Kimbler (Johnny), Ft. Blackmore, Deb Ford (Doug) Blountville, TN; uncles, Jim Lane, Jeff Lane (Debbie) Hiltons, VA, Randall Lane (Connie) Ft. Blackmore, several cousins and a host of friends. He also leaves behind his fur babies Evie, Bud, Bear, and Henry.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2018 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Elder Vernon McDavid, Paul Smith, and Rev. Joe Roberts officiating. Music will be provided by Chris Holder and Journey Home and Pine Grove Harmony.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Coley-Sizemore Cemetery in Gate City- Red Hill. Ryan Sizemore, Tim Blakely, Matthew Cruby, Brandon Lawson, Jim Lane, Randall Lane, Jeff Lane, and Johnny Kimbler will serve as pallbearers. Jim Pierce, David Odom, Mike Painter, Robert Sturgill, and Tommy Dockery will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday to go in procession to the graveside service.
As per Robert’s wish, his body will be taken to the cemetery by horse and wagon driven by his uncle, Jeff Lane.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.
