Ruby L. Egan Shelton, 83. Kingsport, TN passed away, Monday, April 8, 2019 at Holston Manor, Kingsport, TN.
Ruby was born in Scott County, VA on April 27, 1935 to the late Charles Marion and Sarah Jane (Darnell) Egan.
In addition to her parents, her husband of 68 years, Randolph Shelton; grandchildren, Ivy Shelton, Christopher Shelton, Keith Shelton, and son-in-law, Steve Johnson preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Penny Johnson (fiancé, Ernest Mowdy), Church Hill, TN, Deanine (Mickey)Spears, Church Hill, TN; sons, Randy (Debbie) Shelton, Kingsport, Tn, Gary Shelton (Mitzi), Hiltons, VA, Jeff (Twyla) Shelton, Kingsport, TN, Tim (Tammy) Shelton, Toledo, OH; sisters, Patsy Mae Necessary, Weber City, VA, Carrie Head, Kingsport, TN, Debbie (Don) Gillenwater, Ft. Blackmore, VA; brothers, James (Shirley) Egan, Gate City, VA, Roy (Pearl) Egan, Gate City, VA, Bobby Egan, Kingsport, TN, Billy (Betty) Egan, Ft. Blackmore, VA, David (Virginia) Egan, Ft. Blackmore, VA 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Margaret Price and Rev. Mack Greer officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends are asked to meet at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the graveside service.
