Emma Faye Sharitz, 73, Kingsport, TN passed away, Monday, May 12, 2008 at her residence in Kingsport, TN.
Mrs. Sharitz was born in Scott County, VA on September 5, 1934, a daughter of the late Omer and Opal Lane Hammond. She was a cosmetologist and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Sharitz and a sister, Vonda Mullins.
She is survived by her son, Roger Herron, sister, Judith Ann Calhoun and husband, Larry, Gray, TN, brother, William Carlee "Bill" Hammond and wife, JoAnn, Kingsport, TN, a special great niece, Katie "Dit" Johnson and a special aunt, Geneva Lane along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Gate City Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Lane and the Rev. Lawrence Wolfe officiating. The Believers will provide the music.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the memorial fund for Pendleton Cemetery, in care of Dwight Lane, 1115 Sorrel Creek Lane, Gate City, VA 24251.
