Eric Lynn Scalf, 36, Houston, TX passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 at his home.
He was born August 11, 1977 to Gerald and Lynna Hall Scalf, both of the Gate City area. Eric grew up in Johnson City, TN and graduated high school and computer technology school in the Houston, TX area. He spent most of his adult life in Houston.
In December of 2006 he married Joni Jones in Georgia. He was building a career in computer IT before becoming disabled three years ago.
In addition to his love of computers, he was an avid reader, a talented singer, and a lover of animals. All of his friends loved him for his kind heart and sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lynna Darlene Hall Scalf, grandparents, Ransome and Nella Scalf and Geroge and Margie Hall, all from the Gate City area.
His survivors are his wife, Joni Jones Scalf, and his father, Gerald Scalf.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Gate City Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Vernon McDavid of Red Hill Church officiating. Singers from the church will provide the music.
