Bill Hayden Salling, 78, Ft. Blackmore, VA passed away, Friday, March 6, 2015 at Holston Manor, Kingsport, TN.
Mr. Salling was born in Scott County, VA on July 25, 1936; a son of James Mitchell and Loretta Elizabeth Salling.
In addition to his parents, his brother, Todd Salling and sisters, Kathleen Smith, Anita France, and Ethel Hawkins preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sisters, Carlee France, Duffield, VA and Betty Garland and husband, John, Church Hill, TN; nieces, Lisa Simpson and husband, B.P., Check, VA, Traci Smith, Kingsport, TN, and Tricia Thacker and husband, Robby, Kingsport, TN; nephews, Bill France, Duffield, VA and Chris Hawkins, Kingsport, TN; along with several great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Larry Browder officiating.
There will be a private family burial.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Holston Manor for the many years of care provided to Mr. Salling.
