Betty Jean Salling, 70, of Duffield, VA., went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, TN.
Mrs. Salling was born August 11, 1941, the daughter of the late H.W. Gray and Callie Gray Miller.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Salling is preceded in death by an infant son, Jason Nelson Salling and brother, James L. Gray.
Survivors include husband Rex N. Salling of Duffield, VA., Children; Rex L. Salling and wife Tina of Bufford, GA., Sherrie Salling Blankenship and husband Tim of Kingsport, TN., Laura L. Salling Range and husband Jason of Church Hill, TN., Jeremy D. Salling of Duffield, VA. and Cheyanne A. Salling of Church Hill, TN, brothers; Charles H. Gray of Cheraw, SC. and Ronald W. Gray and wife Vickie of Gray, TN., grandchildren; Zach and Emily Salling, Heather and Chase Barham, Kortnee Blair and Jason Salling, step-grandson; Conner Blankenship, great-grandson, Heath Hayes and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday March 31, 2012 from 5-7pm in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the Gate City Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 7pm with Rev. Paul Blessing officiating.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain Home Cemetery, Johnson City, TN. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
